Salt

Crochet artist who is an avid reader that contemplates & scribbles her thoughts to share.....

                                                                    SALT

With a little consternation I sip the morning cup of tea, perplexing if I added right amount of sugar....humph to the attitude of perfection in me. Of course the day needs  a kick start
with that freshly brewed coffee or tea. That tinge of bitterness mixed with aroma of cinnamon, flavor of mint & sweetness of sugar to clear that groggy dreaminess of early morning wherein for a couple of seconds you dare to think i want to sleep in today :D or for a boost to face the day head on.
Ugghhhh...... first sip.....a little more sugar would have just been right....just a few more grains of that snowy sweetness.
But as I yammer drain my tea, my head has already started racing. Taking the helm of the entire day in thoughts only to meet the reflection that i do at the end of day to weigh the fruition of those thoughts. Coextensive i start having regalement that this tea is just right...

The lingering sweetness of first sip followed by sweetness of a second sip followed by another is enough to bring the cumulative effect of having enough sugar. It has this just right effect on the mind.

AHHHHH... I DON'T NEED MORE...LESS IS GOOD...YOU NEED TO LEARN TO ENJOY BETTER.....

If there is a cookout who do you think gets more accolade? ...Hands down it will be the dish that is a little more salty. Salt has this catalytic quality of enhancing the effect of other spices. The reason we prefer one restaurant over other or one cuisine more than the other is none other than the amount of salt.

PROBLEM IS...MORE ALWAYS LEADS TO...WANTING TO HAVE MORE....

More salt...more consumption of food....leads to wanting to have more sweet..more gluttony, more greed...more, more, more.

According to research from Princeton University, there are two areas of the brain: one that is associated with our emotions and the other with abstract reasoning.
As you might have guessed, the emotional part of our brain responds positively to instant gratification. When given the choice of cake now or broccoli later, this part of your brain pushes you to choose the cake.
Imagine a world that takes everything only with a pinch of salt literally :D wherein everyone knows and practices....A little less.....A little more inconvenience...A little more learning to enjoy what we have.....

We underestimate ourselves & get subjugated by our senses. Not realizing  all along that they are there at our disposal. We don't need power & control outside....like the Bruno Mars song....no..no...no...In my own castle, I'm the freaking KING.......
